* Records and track each set of improvement plans from preliminary to final stage through construction.
* Assists in the daily coordination, assignment of work and oversight of GIS Analyst and Construction Engineers.
* Works on special projects: bridge crossings; railroad crossings; design non-normal services, such as for loft buildings; work with those blasting near the Company's mains; and calculate stress on pipelines with non-typical amounts of cover.
* Responsible for specifying and having placed on order most non-stock material required for all types of main and service work.
* Reviews the design and cost estimates for all types of main and service work; review delivery pressures; and justify proposed main work.
* Handles calls and correspondence regarding the status of jobs and projects.
* Prepares necessary paperwork related to the Company's procedures for gas main and service work as required
* Attends utility meetings and pre-construction meetings to negotiate with representatives from engineering firms and municipalities to reduce the impact of proposed improvements to the Company's existing facilities.
* Attends site meetings to resolve specific issues or conflicts with the Company's facilities and proposed improvements.
* Schedules and prioritizes projects that are going to construction or have a higher priority due to the Company's requirements
* Ensures effective utilization of the Company's Geographical Information System (GIS) and asset management system to manage all capital construction design work
* Ensures the use of the Company's standards and applicable State and Federal codes and regulations for all design work
* Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited school required.
* Engineering in Training certificate preferred
