Description

STV is actively seeking a Senior Wireless Communications Engineer for our Douglassville, PA or Philadelphia, PA offices to be a part of our Transportation and Infrastructure Division.

Job Description:

As a Senior Wireless Communications Engineer, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems, including PTC Radio, cellular systems, microwave systems, and land mobile radio, to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of our clients' communication systems in the transportation and infrastructure industry. Your extensive experience will be crucial to the management of complex engineering projects and providing solutions that meet our company's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of wireless communication systems including PTC Radio, cellular systems, microwave systems, and land mobile radio.

  • Supervise and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project deadlines are met and solutions are efficient and cost-effective.

  • Develop detailed engineering plans, cost estimates, and schedules for new or modified communication systems.

  • Conduct system-level modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict system performance under different operating conditions.

  • Actively participate in the full project cycle, planning phase through construction close-out.

  • Ensure all wireless communications systems are compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Produce contract documents in the form of drawings and specifications.

  • Perform troubleshooting and provide expert technical support to ensure the smooth operation of all communication systems.

  • Conduct technical training and mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • At least 15 years of experience in the Rail and Transportation industry with a focus on wireless systems.

  • Demonstrated experience with PTC Radio, cellular systems, microwave systems, and land mobile radio.

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, to allow you to engage with clients one-on-one.

  • Extensive knowledge of wireless protocols, testing, and system integration.

  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrating effectiveness developing scope and technical details in short amount of time.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in using simulation software and other engineering tools.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
