The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Marketing Director, Transfusion Medicine to join our team. The Marketing Director, Transfusion Medicine will cultivate compelling portfolio positioning and messaging relevant to customers' needs and wants and drive distinct competitive advantage for selling new systems and services as well as expanding assay utilization within the existing North America (NA) installed base. The Marketing Director, Transfusion Medicine will collaborate across the organization to execute New Product Introductions (NPI) that encompass pre-launch, launch and post-launch plans. Actively participate in all business planning efforts (e.g. marketing plan, annual operating plan (AOP), monthly/quarterly operating reviews, as well as ad hoc projects etc.) market research, analysis, providing insights, presentation creation and delivery. This role will require considerable time interacting with customers and the field sales and service organizations to capture key insights that will drive planning and actions. Represent and lead new product development for NA by driving Voice of Customer (VOC) into the development process and align with Business Fields on product lifecycle management strategy. This position will report to the Senior Director, Acute Marketing and will be based remote in the US.

The Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, management, and development to the system strategy team as well as the rest of the NA marketing organization.

  • Develop and implement the NA IH product management marketing plan to support the achievement of the NA AOP and product placement targets (total, % competitive, cash mix). Establish key performance indicators to measure program effectiveness and track trends

  • Maintain and expand a deep understanding of the NA diagnostics and blood banking market and establish productive relationships with key customers and customer groups. Partner with corporate licensing and acquisitions stakeholders in preparing and presenting opportunities to appropriate commercial leadership teams.

  • Drive Launch Excellence for all new product launches from business case through pre-launch planning to execution and attainment of objectives

  • Ensure effective product positioning is in place and work with learning and development to ensure knowledge/capability levels are reached with the appropriate commercial personnel

  • Prepare business updates for monthly/quarterly operating reviews, NALT meetings and customer presentations & events

  • Drive engagement and market knowledge through field travel, internal relationships, customer visits, trade shows and attendance of sales team meetings and effective communication

  • Organize, plan and deliver exceptional experiences for annual sales meetings and key trade shows (e.g. AABB)

  • Integrate customer knowledge and market data to ensure both on-market and future products and solutions have a strong value proposition for both the customer and the company.

  • Provide leadership, direction, management, and development to the system strategy team as well as the rest of the NA marketing organization.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The IndividualRequired:
  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, ideally in Business, Marketing or Healthcare Management.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years diagnostic, blood bank and/or transfusion medicine experience required. 5+ years in marketing, sales, or management is preferred.

The Work Environment

Typical office environment. Field travel with sales team and meeting with customers, at least 20% per month or 4 field travel days.No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to reach, climb, or balance. On a typical day, 80% of time is spent at the desk, on the phone, or working at the computer; 20% in meetings or interacting with team members. May require significant domestic travel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $117,000 to $200,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays.
